To get started
- Make sure that you have a compatible Apple Watch or iPhone updated to the latest software.
Apple Fitness+ compatibility.
To subscribe to Apple Fitness+ all you need is iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16.1 or later or Apple Watch Series 3 or later with watchOS 7.2 or later paired with iPhone 6s or later with iOS 14.3 or later.
You can also access Apple Fitness+ from your Apple TV with tvOS 14.3 or later and iPad with iPadOS 14.3 or later.
To get the newest features make sure your devices are running the latest software version.

- If you haven’t alreay, subscribe to Apple Fitness+.
Find a workout
If you’ve completed at least three Fitness+ workouts, your personalized recommendations will be at the top of the app. If you don’t see personalized recommendations, you can still find and filter workouts.
- On your iPhone, open the Fitness app and tap the Fitness+ tab. On your iPad or Apple TV, open the Fitness app.
- Select a workout type.
- Tap or select the Filter button.
- Tap a filter option to narrow down the workouts.
Once you’ve found a workout, you can:
- Tap or select Preview to watch a preview of the workout. In the preview, the trainer will give you an idea of the structure of the workout, the playlist, and the inspiration behind the workout.
- Save a workout by tapping the Add button on your iPhone or iPad, or selecting Save Workout on your Apple TV. To access your saved workouts, scroll to My Workouts at the bottom of Fitness+.
- Review the music playlist for the workout. If you have an Apple Music subscription, tap or select Listen in Music to add the playlist in Apple Music.

Ready to work out?
Work out on iPhone or iPad
- Tap Let’s Go.
- Tap the Play button, and your metrics from your Apple Watch will appear onscreen.
- Pause and resume your workout as needed on your device or Apple Watch.
After your workout ends, you can review your results or start a Mindful Cooldown.
Work out on Apple TV
- Open the Fitness app.
- Select yourself. Select Other if you’re not signed in as the primary account and don’t have your Apple Watch paired with the Apple TV. To pair your Apple Watch, open the Workout app on your watch and enter the code displayed on the Apple TV.
- Find and select your workout.
- Select the Play button, and your metrics from your Apple Watch will appear onscreen.
- Pause and resume your workout as needed on your device or Apple Watch.
After your workout ends, you can review your results or start a Mindful Cooldown.
